LOVING VINCENT
This project was inspired by the film Loving Vincent,
as well as a collaborative effort of creative thought between myself and two wonderful teacher I work with in Mrs. Marino and Miss Toth.
When attempting to use art history and combine with the possibilities of modern art supplies and techniques the lesson will combine film, group work, daily journal entries, and art making skills. Students will be broken up into groups of 5-8 students depending on table assignments. Students will then be designated a painting from Vincent Van Gogh and recreate the painting on a 30x48 inch piece of cardboard using pieces of paper paint samples from local home stores.
Students cut the shapes into whatever they felt would help them create the best representation of their chosen work (squares, triangles, organic, larger small, etc…). I wasn't sure how this would all come out, but they definitely surpassed my expectations. Enjoy.
