2015-2016 Paper Mache
A Lego Invasion
This year we decided to make Legos…… but didn’t know what characters. Then it hit us, superheros would be perfect!!!!! Along with the usual band of characters such as the Hulk, Superman, Flash, Thor, Ironman, Silver Surfer, and Captain America we made some other special characters. We made a couple Art Club Legos, an Abraham Lincoln, along with our 3 building principals and superintendent.
Along with the characters that will bless the halls of the schools, we will be choosing a different teacher every week in the elementary school to go on a scavenger hunt. This hunt will start with a knock on the door and the first Lego character standing outside of the door, holding a clue to Lego number two. From there they will go find the second, third, and fourth Lego who will have the clue to the fifth and final Lego to end the search. The hunts will be themed based upon what the classroom teacher is going over that week. The reason we wanted to do this was to help find a way to increase the retention of each teachers lesson and to help drive home to learning goals with the kids. So this is our way of helping out.
First how we did it......... We started with these templates to cut out the leg and body shapes.
Then we began to paper mache the legs and bodies
for the 7 ft characters.........
Created Arms and Heads.......

The unveiling that became an event. We took the Lego marcello to the cafeteria during lunch and showed it to the kids, staff, administrators, and Mr. marcello for the first time. So here at some images of everyone waiting while Mr. MacMillan asked the kids if they liked the superheros in school, who their favorite was, but most importantly who was under the sheet.
Teacher and cafeteria staff came out of the woodwork to see the Mighty Super Shawn!!!!!
