data - pieces of information

survey - collect information by asking a number of people the same question and recording their answers

tally chart - a chart on which data is recorded

tally mark - a mark used to record data on a tally chart

pictograph - a graph using pictures or symbols to show data

bar graph - a graph using bars to show data

scale - the numbers that show the units used on a graph

coordinate grid - a grid used to show ordered pairs

ordered pair - two numbers used to name a point on a coordinate grid

line graph - a graph that shows how data changes over a period of time

plot - loacte and mark a point on a coordinate grid using a given ordered pair

likely event - an event that will probably happen

unlikely event - an event that probably won't happen

certain event - an event that is sure to happen

impossible event - an event that will never happen

equally likely outcomes - outcomes that have the same chance of happening

more likely outcome - the outcome with a greater chance of happening

less likely outcome - the outsome with the lesser chance of happening

outcome - a possible result of a game or experiment

predict - to tell what might happen using information you know

line plot - a way to organize data on a line
