solid figure - a figure that has length, width, and height

rectangular prism - a solid figure with faces that are rectangles

cube - a solid figure with six faces that are congruent squares

pyramid - a solid figure whose base is a polygon and whose faces are triangles with a common point

cylinder - a solid figure with two congruent circles as bases

cone - a solid figure with a circle as its base and a curved surface that meets at a point

sphere - a solid figure in the shape of a ball

face - a flat surface of a solid that does not roll

edge - a line segment where two faces of a solid figure meet

vertex - the point where two rays meet to form an angle. The points where the sides of a polygon meet. The points where 3 or more edges meet in a solid figure that does not roll. The pointed part of a cone.

angle - a figure formed by two rays that have the same endpoint

right angle - an angle that forms a square corner

octagon - a polygon with 8 sides

lines - more than one straight path of points that is endless in both directions

acute angle - an angle that is open less than a right angle

obtuse angle - an angle that is open more than a right angle

parallel lines - lines that never intersect

line segment - a part of a line that has two endpoints

quadrilateral - a polygon with 4 sides

pentagon - a polygon with 5 sides

hexagon - a polygon with 6 sides

intersecting lines - lines that cross at one point

vertex of a polygon - the point where two two rays meet to form an angle

perpendicular - two lines that intersect to form right angles

equilateral triangle - a triangle with all sides the same length

isosceles triangle - a triangle with at least two sides the same length

scalene triangle - a triangle with no sides the same length

right triangle - a triangle with one right angle

acute triangle - a triangle with three acute triangles

obtuse triangle - a triangle with one obtuse angle

trapezoid - a quadrilateral with only one pair of parallel sides

parallelogram - a quadrilateral in which opposite sides are parallel

rectangle - a quadrilateral with four right angles

rhombus - a quadrilateral with opposite sides parallel and all sides the same length

square - a quadrilateral with four right angles and all sides the same length.
