Vocabulary

Congruent - the same size and shape

Slide/Translation - the change in the position of a figure that moves it up, down, or sideways

Flip/Reflection - the change in the position that picks up and moves to give a mirror image

Turn/Rotation - the change in the position of a figure that moves it around a point

Line of Symmetry - a line on which a figure can be folded so that both parts match exactly

Symmetric Figure - a figure that has at least one line of symmetry
