ODE Training Modules - Facilitation Guides

These guides are designed to assist Test Coordinators in providing the required training for each of the assessment training modules.

Using the Sample Tests with Students

Explore the sample test at your grade level to experience the types of questions.

    • Grade level Computer Adaptive Tests (CAT) (but are not adaptive in this practice test)
    • Grade level Performance Tasks (PT)
    • A great way to do this is use your document camera to display items from the sample test and have students interact with each other to respond to the items. Partners could share with each other HOW they attacked this problem.

Using the TA Training Interface Site

The Training Interface Site is for the use of authorized Test Coordinators and Test Administrators, and cannot be accessed by students. This training tool allows you to become familiar with both user interfaces (TA and Student) before administering the operational OSAS Online test. The TA Training Interface Site allows you to simulate a regular test session where there is a TA interface and students log in to a training test session using the same protocol as they would in an operational test session.

Process and Protocol for Test Administrator Training and OSAS Portal Account Creation

In order for OSAS Portal (TIDE) accounts to be created for Test Administrators (TAs), the following must take place in order:

  1. TA completes online training
  2. TA takes and passes the online quiz (90% is a passing score)
  3. TA attends in-person training in their building led by the School Test Coordinator
  4. TA returns to the online course and submits their Assurance of Test Security form

We will be checking the assurance form submissions 2 - 3 times per week and create accounts in the portal based on submission of the form. Our assumption will be that if a TA submits the form, they have completed ALL of the required training detailed above in steps 1 - 3. Test Coordinators, please be sure and instruct your TAs that they should not submit an assurance form until they have completed ALL required training.
