Our Story

Our project spreads awareness about the disparity of trees through creating infographics and attaching QR Codes that show the species of trees surrounding our school. We chose this project because it involved our areas of expertise, along with wanting to educate our peers on trees. Ayden and Owen are good at researching as well as condensing that information. Elaine and Aly excel at organizing that information in an artistic way. Our neighborhood of impact is our school.

Our Solution

Our goal for this project was to inform people on the importance of trees, and what they do for the environment and communities. Our project addresses climate change by aiming to inform others about the significance of trees and the crucial role they play in combating climate change. We created informative infographics explaining the importance of trees and hung them up around our school. We learned that trees sequester carbon from the atmosphere, while also releasing oxygen. Most importantly, we learned how much impact trees have on the environment as well as low-income communities not having as many trees and this causing people’s health to decline.
