For this project, juniors at High Tech High partnered with local organizations across San Diego to help the fight against climate change. The name "Code Red for Humanity" comes from the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Code Red refers to the dangerous state of the world in a changing climate, a problem humans created and perpetuated. Each group below worked with a different organization that addresses various aspects of climate change from heat, to pollution, to climate change communication.
Our group is focusing on how low-income communities are disproportionately affected by climate.
We created a plastic water bottle sculpture to demonstrate how much plastic HTH uses within a week.
We hosted a movie night and premiered the Youth V. Gov documentary to spread awareness in our High Tech High community.
Creating infographics with QR codes that connect to a slideshow explaining the species of trees surrounding our school to educate others on the importance of trees.
