Self-Referral for Social Emotional Support

Overview:  Students can access school counselor for support in problem solving. The problem can be school/academically related, family situations or a problem with a peer. The students know that not only is the school counselor available for emotional and social support, but can help with clothing, food, school supplies and coping with big feelings.

Where located in Intermediate School:  School Counselor's Office

Days available:  Monday - Friday

Times available:  9:00-3:00

Referral process:  Each classroom has purple sheets that are, "I need to see the school counselor" these sheets have been explained to the students and teachers and can be slipped under the school counselor's door or left in her mailbox. Teachers will also email for availability if a student says they need to talk.
