Planned Parenthood Education Center (PPEC)

Overview: The Planned Parenthood Education Center or PPEC is a resource room for students to have a private space for confidential information sharing. Students are welcome to drop by during lunch hour or study hall.

Sexual Health Education Topics that may be discussed during a private session:

  • Abstinence and Consent
  • Contraception
  • Prevention of STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections) and HIV/AIDS or PrEp
  • Healthy & Unhealthy Relationships
  • LBGTQA or Gender Pronouns
  • How to Make an Appointment
  • Minors Rights (NYS)

The educator will be available for teachers, counselors, social workers and other school personnel for information about Planned Parenthood’s health and education services. We’re invested in helping young adults avoid unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, and have healthy relationships so that they complete their education and move on to college, careers or the military, and become parents when they are adults. Where located in High School: Health Office

Days available: Typically the first Friday of the month and the following Tuesday. Dates are posted on bulletin board outside of Health Office.

Times available: 11-1

Referral process:

  • Walk ins are strongly encouraged
  • Any teacher can suggest to a student to come and see the Educator during those time slots
