Dear Hampton Middle School Community,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to another exciting year of athletics at Hampton Middle School! As the Athletic Director, I am honored to serve our student-athletes, families, and dedicated supporters who make our program so special.

At HMS, we believe athletics play a vital role in the development of our students—fostering teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and perseverance both on and off the field. Whether on the court, the track, or the playing field, our student-athletes strive to represent our school with pride and integrity.

We are committed to providing a positive, inclusive, and competitive environment where all students can grow, lead, and succeed. Our coaches are passionate educators who not only teach the game but help shape confident, respectful, and resilient young people.

We encourage all families and community members to come out and support our teams. Your energy and involvement fuel our athletes and strengthen the spirit of the Hampton Hornets. Together, we can create a season full of memories, achievement, and school pride.

winter athletics preview

As we enter the Winter 2025–2026 athletic season, Hampton Middle School is proud to announce the start of our basketball and wrestling programs. Our student-athletes and coaches are excited to represent Hampton with pride, discipline, and commitment throughout the winter months.

SPOTLIGHT ON TEAM,PLAYERS, AND COACHES

The Hornet wrestling program continues to grow, teaching strength, perseverance, discipline, and confidence. Wrestlers will compete across several meets this winter. Our wrestling team is proud to compete are returning county runner-ups for the second consecutive year. Our boys’ and girls’ basketball teams continue to uphold a tradition of competitive excellence and strong teamwork. We look forward to a dynamic season of development, effort, and school spirit.

Hampton Middle School is honored to host this year’s wrestling traditional tournament January 16, 2026 starting at 6:00pm @ Hampton High, and look forward to welcoming athletes, coaches, and families from across the county.

ATHLETE(S) OF THE MONTH

We celebrate the outstanding leadership and volunteer work of both Jesse Flournoy and Ethan Moore. Both boys are members of the hornet football team, We thank them for their volunteer work with the Hampton community putting up flags to honor our military veterans.

ATHLETEs to watch

We spotlight Amariona Taylor for her athleticism and leadership on and off the field. Amariona is a football cheerleader, former wrestler and track and field athlete, now playing basketball for the lady hornets. 

ACADEMIC AND LEADERSHIP SPOTLIGHT

We recognize Alexander Castillo (Football, Wresting) and Rhiley Hamm (Flag Football, Basketball) for their excellent work on and off the field, court and mat.  Both Alex and Rhiley are two sport athletes and proud members of Hampton Middle School's student produced daily news cast.
