Greetings Mustang Nation! Our student-athletes and coaches are hard at work to make sure that 2025-2026 is our best school year yet. We are excited to use this platform to share our journey with all of you.
Flag Football - The ladies advance to the State playoffs in the 2 seed. They will host their first round game after the break!
Swimming - OLA Mustangs took 1st overall with a combined score of 293 points against 9 teams. To start us off, Noel Davies placed 4th in the 200 Free dropping 2 seconds from his best time and was followed closely by Christian Applewhite with a first swim. For the ladies, Gigi Ortiz dropped a whapping 14.38 seconds to grab 4th and was followed closely by both Emlyee Overby who PR-ed as well with an 8.55 second drop and Grace Peavey who had a first swim. Breck Wolverton stepped up to take on the 200 IM for the first time placing 6th. This was followed by newcomer Aubree Hogg who placed 4th for the ladies in her first 200 IM swim. She was followed closely by Gloria Peavey who dropped 3.70 seconds. In the girls 50 freestyle Rachel Richter took 4th followed closely by Madeleine Holsenbeck who dropped almost 5 seconds. We also had personal best times from Kaylana Deleshaw and Willemina Creech (over ½ second drop), Wren Clobes who took off 3.33 seconds, and Joy Peavey 3.07 second drop. In the second half, Marquise Smalley dropped 3.02 from his 100 free and Hunter Herr took off 4.42 seconds; however, it was Nicholas Montufar with the biggest drop of the evening with a 34.05 second drop in the 100 Free. Jack Ramindi keeps breaking his own record with another 4.52 second drop in the 500 Freestyle taking second place. He was followed closely by Noel Davies taking 4th. For the first time in the 500 Free, freshmen Ryan Tomlinson and Joseph Jimenez took 5th and 6th places. For the ladies in the 500, Holsenbeck took 4th who was followed by freshman Willemina Creech 7th and Madeline Lillevik 9th (dropping 26.11 seconds this week). Our boys A relay took 4th in the 200 Free. Our Ladies took the GOLD in the 200 Free Relay 8 seconds ahead of the competition. Our B relay took 5th and C relay 8th. In the 100 backstroke, Ashton Holsenbeck PR-ed by 4 seconds to take 7th, Hunter Herr followed in 8th, Maurice Smalley in 9th and Breck Wolverton in 11th (all within 10 seconds apart). For the Ladies, Mackie Freeman took 3rd, Gloria Peavey took 6th (dropping 6 seconds), Emylee Overby took 9th (dropping 11.45 seconds) and Aubree Hogg took 10th (dropping 2.36 seconds). Jack, our distance swimmer tried his hand at breaststroke for the first time taking 8th place and was followed by Drake Clobes in 9th (dropping 6.21). Both Joseph Jimenez (11th place) and Nicholas Montufar (13th place) swam the breast for the first time. Lastly, the Boys “A” relay took GOLD 10 seconds ahead of the pack and were followed by “B” who fought hard for 3rd. The ladies took second and 5th. Over all a great evening from our Ola Mustangs who always make a splash.
Women's Basketball - Girls' basketball traveled to Fayette County and won by a score of 65-34. This marks Coach Guy's first win as a head coach!! Congratulations Coach! Many more to come.
Men's Basketball - The boys lost 66-49. They look to bounce back next week when they play Alcovy and Carrollton. They are young, but will be looking to come together in non-region play to make a push for the Region 2-AAAA Championship!
Riflery - Ola Redtail Riflery lost a close match to the Social Circle Redskins on Thursday, 6 November. Social Circle shot a combined 1095 to Ola’s 957. Ola’s top shooter was Cadet Major Addison Martin with a 258 and 6 bullseyes. Cadet 1st Lt Lucas Ramsey helped the team out by shooting a 249.

Coach Britney Guy won her first game as a head coach against Fayette County High School. We are very glad to have her here with us as she will lead this program in the right direction.
Football competed hard and lost on a last second field goal vs. Cambridge. We are proud of the continued success of out team going 8-3. This program continues to grow and is headed in a very positive direction. While they are not satisfied, it will fuel them into the offseason where they will continue to make great strides.

ACADEMIC AND LEADERSHIP HIGHLIGHTS
Tameya Miller has a 4.009 GPA and has already earned 26.5 credits out of the 23 needed to graduate. Tameya is a standout on the Flag Football team and is also heavily involved in our fine arts programs.
Daniel Mendez has a 4.045 GPA and is a standout on the baseball team. He is also apart of the SAAC and a leader in the building. Daniel played in the High School World Baseball Classic on team Panama earlier in the year. He is committed to play at Georgia Highlands.
