As we kick off a new year, we’re excited for the growth ahead—on the field, in the classroom, and in character. Our coaches are committed to developing champions in every sense. This year’s theme, “Even Better,” challenges us all to raise the bar. We invite our families, fans, and the entire Bulldog community to buy in, show up, and support our journey to excellence. As Winter Sports get into full swing, Dutchtown High School Athletics is excited to showcase the strength, talent, and determination of our student-athletes. This year’s winter programs promise high-energy competition, strong community spirit, and continued excellence across all sports.
Boys & Girls Basketball: Dutchtown Basketball returns with intensity and purpose. Both teams are focused on disciplined play, gritty defense, and fast-paced offense. They are off to a strong start and have already shown that they are out to bring home a State Title. Fans can expect competitive matchups, strong leadership from returners, and energetic home-court atmospheres in the Dawg House all season long.
Dance: The Dutchtown StarZ Dance Team brings energy, artistry, and school pride to the winter season. With dynamic choreography, precision, and spirited performances, the team enhances the game-day experience and represents Dutchtown with excellence. Fans can expect powerful routines, creative showcases, and a strong performance presence from our 3-time State Champion Dance team throughout the winter.
Wrestling: Our wrestling program continues to grow with a Boys and Girls roster full of dedicated student-athletes, committed to hard work and technical development. Expect to see strong individual performances, improved depth, and a team ready to compete on the mat at every meet and tournament. The team has already hosted their first home match against Banneker and Midtown High Schools and brought BIG wins home!
Swim: Our swim program continues to develop skilled athletes with strong work ethic and impressive competitiveness. Expect fast times, improved performances meet after meet, and continued growth as the program establishes its presence. Our Swim team placed 3rd in their latest Swim meet at Johnson Park.

Boys Basketball - Head Coach: Wallace Corker
Our boys basketball program is built on discipline, defensive toughness, and a fast-paced style of play. Under Coach’s leadership, the team continues to elevate its performance, emphasizing strong fundamentals and a winning mindset. Fans can expect exciting matchups, standout individual performances, and continued growth from this competitive group.
Girls Basketball - Head Coach: Joshua “JP” Pierce
The girls' basketball team embodies grit, teamwork, and resilience. Coach leads the program with a focus on player development, conditioning, and building confidence on the court. This season, the Lady Bulldogs are prepared to challenge every opponent with determination and heart.
Dance - Head Coach: Ebonee Usher
Our Dance Team adds spirit, precision, and dynamic performances to the winter season. Coach E. Usher leads with a creative vision that emphasizes technique, synchronization, and performance excellence. The team’s routines energize school events, showcase artistic athleticism, and bring a vibrant presence to the DAWG House. This season, fans can expect powerful performances, innovative choreography, and a team that continues to elevate its standard. They will be defending their 3 time back-to-back to back State Championships in High Kick.
Wrestling - Head Coach: Cedric Davis
Our wrestling program continues to expand under Coach’s guidance, emphasizing strength, strategy, and mental toughness. With a dedicated group of athletes, this team is primed for strong showings at tournaments and dual meets. Expect to see significant growth, breakout performances, and high competitive energy all season long.
Swimming - Head Coach: Cyndi Mors
The girls swim team continues to build a solid foundation under Coach’s leadership. With a focus on technique, endurance, and confidence in the water, this team showcases steady growth each meet. Expect faster times, stronger finishes, and a program developing into a winter-season favorite.

Boys Basketball
Bobby Buggs continues to shine as a standout leader for Dutchtown Boys Basketball. A senior and the team’s leading scorer, Bobby is averaging an impressive 21 points per game and consistently elevates the level of play on both ends of the court. His impact has been undeniable—he was named Player of the Game in both recent matchups, showcasing his skill, competitiveness, and commitment to excellence. Bobby’s performance sets the tone for the entire program as the Bulldogs push forward this season.
Girls Wrestling
Amelia Donaldson shows unmatched determination, technical growth, and grit every single day. Her discipline, focus, and willingness to push past her limits make her a powerhouse in the room. She leads by example and inspires her teammates with her effort and consistency.

Will Howard, IV brings intensity, strength, and a champion’s mindset to every practice and match. His work ethic, sportsmanship, and drive to improve reflect what it truly means to be a DHS Bulldog wrestler. Will is a leader in the making and a force on the mat.

ACADEMIC AND LEADERSHIP HIGHLIGHTS
Taryn Williamson exemplifies both academic excellence and campus leadership as a senior golfer and standout scholar at Dutchtown High School. She competes at an elite level in Henry County golf invitationals and simultaneously excels in rigorous coursework as a full-time student Dual Enrollment and Academy for Advanced Studies student. Taryn is also a committed student-leader, serving as the Golf Representative for the Dutchtown High School Student-Athlete Advisory Council, where she advocates for her peers and helps strengthen the student-athlete experience. Beyond athletics and leadership, Taryn’s ingenuity truly shines—she designed a 3D-printed thermostat cover for Henry County Schools that protects thermostats, improves efficiency, and has now been implemented districtwide, saving the system significant costs.
