A PTA sponsored event that is a joint effort between CLES and Burleigh Manor Middle school. A free event that takes place in an evening in February at Burleigh Manor Middles School Cafeteria, Gymnasium, and Media Center. This event is completely run by volunteers in the community. Parents are expected to stay and chaperone their child throughout the evening.
In the Cafeteria a stage is set and performances take place throughout the evening. Performances in the past have ranged from Chinese Dragon Dance, Musical Performance, Bollywood dancing, Traditional Cultural Dances and singing.
In the Gymnasium there is a sampling of cuisine throughout the world. Every region of the globe is represented with sample drinks and snacks from the world. Supplies are limited so come early for this event. Parent and community volunteers prepare the dishes and volunteer to distribute them during the evening.
In the media center there are display boards from different countries with books, games, and items to view and learn about other cultures
In the hallways there are stations where one can learn a cultural dance, receive a henna tattoo, and have hands on learning about other cultures.
Please look out for volunteer sign up links in the email newsletters via Sign Up Genius. Volunteer opportunities are available for food preparation, performances, set up and clean up, and running various stations throughout the evening.
