Kindergarten Orientation - This event typically takes place the Friday prior to the first day of school. At the orientation you and your child will meet their kindergarten teacher and see their classroom. Your child will also have the opportunity to drop off their school supplies in their classroom.
Kindergarten Name Tag - At the Kindergarten orientation your child will receive a name tag that states their name and their teacher. Please have your child wear this name tag for the first week of school so they can be identified and guided throughout their new school.
Safeties - There are fifth grade students that are designated as Safeties. These students will wear a fluorescent yellow belt and sash during the beginning of school and at dismissal. There are designated Safeties on each bus that help bring the kindergartners to and from their classrooms to the bus.
Kindergarten Dismissal - At the end of the school day, kindergartners who are walkers will be dismissed 10 minutes earlier than the regular dismissal time. At that time a teacher will meet the parent or predesignated adult chaperone behind the school for dismissal.
Kindergarten End of Year Program - at the end of the school year in May or early June there will be a kindergarten end of year program during the school day. Parents are invited to listen to their children sing and view a slide show. The Kindergarten Fun Day typically follows the graduation.
