STEM night

STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) night is not a PTA sponsored event but is run by the teachers of CLES. It is typically a weekday evening in April that celebrates Science Technology, Engineering, and Math. The event takes place at CLES and is a free event to CLES students and their families. The Maryland Science Center has stations in either the cafeteria or gymnasium of the school where students can explore science through hands on activities. Students may obtain a paper "passport" before entry and get a "stamp" at each station marking their achievement in these activities throughout the exhibit. There will be other stations located in the school where children can participate in a design project. Some examples of previous design projects include creating a catapult out of popsicle sticks and rubber bands, building a structure out of cardboard and paperclips, or designing a parachute with a plastic bag and string.
