Rugby students had an awesome week last week, with several student groups turning in superb performances in their respective disciplines:

• Battle of the Books won the regional competition, earning a berth in the state level competition for early May.
• 8th grade Strings earned two superiors and two excellent ratings at competition last week.
• 8th grade Band earned “Straight Superiors” at competition Friday. In other words, in front of objective judges, all judges rated RMS in the highest possible category.
• RMS Golf, Softball, Soccer and Track all remain undefeated!

This one week beautifully illustrates how Rugby students represent our community in so many positive ways!

Report Cards for Quarter 3 will be available on Friday, March 30. Please let your student’s RT teacher know if you wish to have a paper copy. We encourage you to process these report cards with your students, offering praise where appropriate and support where it’s needed.

Spring Break is April 2-April 6, 2018.

Superintendent Bo Caldwell is conducting Town Hall Meetings on School Safety in each school zone in our county. The Town Hall for our district will occur on Tuesday, April 24 from 6:00-7:00 pm at WHHS. Please join us and the district leadership as we work together to create the safest schools we can.

The district initiative of We Are Hope week is scheduled for this week. During lunches this week, all students will have the opportunity to sign a pledge against abusing prescription drugs. On Monday, 3/26, sixth graders will have a speaker during their exploratory time. Sixth grade students should report to their first exploratory class, and the teacher will then lead them to the gym for the speaker. Please remind students of the importance of representing themselves, their families and their school in a respectful manner.
