How to: Submit a Traditional Assignment
There are several ways in Schoology that a student can be asked to submit work. One way is through what we call a "traditional assignment." In this type of assignment, when the student opens it up, they will see directions and a submit button in the upper right corner. It will look like the image below:
If your student's teacher has created a traditional assignment and they need help submitting, they should:
Open the assignment from the Course Materials section.
In the upper right corner, click Submit Assignment.
Select one of these options:
Upload: Select a file from your computer.
Create: Create a document on the web using the text editor.
Resources: Select a file from your Resources.
Use the Add a Comment box, if desired.
Click Submit to finish.
To submit a file saved in your Google Drive to a traditional Schoology Assignment:
Open the assignment from Course Materials.
In the upper right corner, click Submit Assignment.
Within the Upload window, select Resources.
Click Apps (along the left side), and then Google Drive.
Search for your document using the search bar.
Check the box to the left of the item you wish to upload.
Select Import and choose Import File.
If your teacher has created a traditional Schoology assignment but wants you to submit a link to your Google doc (which allows them to see/make comments):
In your Google Doc, make sure your teacher will have access:
Click the blue Share button in the upper right corner.
Click Get Shareable Link
Change your settings to allow anyone in HCPS with the link to edit.
Copy your link.
Open the Assignment in Schoology.
Click on Submit Assignment.
Click Create.
Paste your link into the text box.
Press Submit.
