How to: Submit a Google Drive Assignment

Frequently, teachers will create an assignment in Schoology where a copy of a template is automatically created for the student in their Google Drive. When they open this type of assignment, they will see two tabs at the top: Assignment and My Document. In the description box, you may see directions for the assignment and its due date. If the assignment is graded with a rubric, the rubric may also be displayed in the description box. Finally, if the teacher has attached files that might help the student complete the assignment, those will be listed in the "Attachments" section.

To access a Google Drive assignment, your student will need to:

  1. Review the assignment instructions and rubric on the Assignment tab.

  2. Click on My Document to create your Google Doc copy of the assignment.

  3. Complete the assignment as instructed.

  4. Click the Submit Assignment in the blue bar.

Hint: If you would like to view your assignment within Google Drive itself, press the Edit button in the upper right corner. This makes the document larger. It will continue to update as you work within Schoology, and you can go back there to submit when you finish.
