Mr. Vince Crisologo shared to us that he was from Manila. The topic started with the guest speakers' experience in E-konek Pilipinas Inc. e-Konek is the largest Value-Added Service Provider for e-Governance services in the Philippines. They give people access to effective trade and logistics-related electronic services, which empowers them and makes the nation more competitive in the trade and investment sectors. They are a business-oriented IT company with 39,000 users, 80 applications, and one million transactions per month. It is also one of the Value-Added Service Providers that the government recognizes (VASP). It is a Philippine-based provider of IT solutions. Every transaction in the modern world must now be digitized by the BOC, Mr. Eric introduced us to one of the VASPs that the government uses in the lodgment of goods declaration. This is where e-konek comes into play. Mr. Vince said that eXPERIENT exposes the students to the actual tools that the customs brokers are using in the real-world setting. This system is utilized by the actual practitioners in the field of Customs Administration. In the application of eXPERIENT students can practice sample data. Student transactions are graded, and errors are tallied. Corresponding grades are displayed once transactions are submitted.
In the second part of the discussion, Ms. Acobera showed us how to use the website for customs entry such as the Manifest, Waybill, and SAD. She begins with the News and Advisories where it allows the students to be updated of the current events. Publications show memorandums for student reference. Notes page can access notes uploaded by their teachers. The Practical Exams page helps prepare for classroom and board examinations. Online Exams can be administered and generate scores immediately once students finish their test. Reports page can help teachers to generate reports about student performance.
