The State of Hawaii Department of Education received federal funds for 2022. Summer school for this program will be free for the following students:

Students enrolled in Hawaii Public Schools for the 2021-2022 or 2022-2023 school years.

Non-DOE students, include private and homeschool students must pay a fee.

Due to the high volume of registrations in previous years, this website crashed. To avoid this, please do not go to this site (eschool.hidoe.us) on registration day. Instead, bookmark the Registration Site and go directly there on April 1 at 8:30 a.m. It is recommended to enroll your child online when registration opens. Many of our courses fill up in minutes.

REQUIRED: Meet with your primary school counselor prior to enrolling with E-School. Your current or future school can advise you on the appropriate course to take for your grade level. The counselor or registrar can determine if the course you are enrolling in is relevant to your educational goals. Additionally, this will allow schools to plan more effectively for next year's class schedules.

For questions or concerns, please email the Summer School Director, Kammie Hayashibara, at eschool@hawaiidoe.k12.hi.us.

  • All classes (.5 and 1 credit) run from June 4 - July 19.

REGISTRATION

  • ALL ENROLLMENTS MUST BE DONE ONLINE. Parents/guardians must register their child online for summer school courses.

  • Important: When completing the enrollment form on registration day, it is recommended you DO NOT use the auto-fill feature on your browser. In the past, parents using the auto-fill feature for their name, email address and mailing address would override their child's information. Please double-check you entered all information correctly before submitting your registration.

  • Students are only allowed to enroll in up to one credit for summer school. This means students can take two .5 semester classes (e.g. Modern History of Hawaii and Participation in Democracy) OR one 1 credit class (e.g. Algebra 2). Please refer to the course listing to determine credits for courses. It is recommended to enroll your child online as soon as registration opens on the first day. Many of our courses fill up in minutes.

  • If you are signing up for two courses, please note both classes will run at the same time for six weeks. Students will need to login to both classes every day of the session.

  • For increased equity, E-School is not accepting requests for specific teachers. The registration system randomly places students into sections.

  • If classes reach capacity, continue with the enrollment process if you would like to be placed on the waitlist.

  • Parent/guardians: If your child has a 504 or IEP, please submit the documents to E-School.

  • ALL DOE AND CHARTER SCHOOL STUDENTS: In order to register, you must have your 10 digit Student ID Number. You can find this number on your report card or ask your school counselor or registrar for this information. Additionally, please enter your first and last name as it appears in Infinite Campus. For example, student, Eliza Rae H. Apana, should have a First Name entered of Eliza Rae, not just Eliza.

  • Non-DOE and private school students should verify with your primary school that credits earned through E-School will be accepted before enrolling.

  • Registration requires valid student and parent email addresses. Student and parent emails should be different. Please enter this information correctly or you will not receive the email confirmation.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

WAITLIST

  • Waitlists are established for courses that reach maximum enrollment. You will be notified through email if a space becomes available. Do NOT submit payment for waitlisted courses. E-School is free for 2021. See message below in green.

  • If a space becomes available for a waitlisted course, and you have already registered for others, please notify E-School which course you would like to replace. The payment you sent in will be applied to the new class.

MANDATORY STUDENT ORIENTATION FOR NEW E-SCHOOL STUDENTS

  • Students NEW to E-School must pass an online mandatory student orientation course with a score of 52 or higher. If this requirement is not completed by May 20 at 2:30 p.m., the student will be dropped from summer school and a refund will be issued. You will receive the login and information for this requirement after you complete registration.

  • Students who have already taken E-School classes and passed the student orientation do not need to complete this requirement again.

  • Students on the waitlist who complete the mandatory student orientation will be given priority.

  • A student who commits a Chapter 19 class A or class B offense shall be dismissed from summer school. Regardless of when the student is dismissed, there will be no refund of tuition. A student who commits two of any Chapter 19 class C or class D offenses will receive a warning for the first offense and may be released from summer school for the second offense.

  • Parents/Guardians and Students: Please read this Chapter 19 Letter.
