All Hawaii Online Courses (HOC) high school science courses include hands-on laboratory activities. Depending on the science course, labs may be conducted virtually at home and/or in person. AP Science courses will have a mandatory in-person lab requirement at a DOE location. Students may be required to provide some of the supplies used in courses where labs are done at home. The parent/guardian is required to provide assistance and supervision while the student performs the hands-on labs at home.

Students and parents should review the HOC Science Lab Safety Agreement, which will be emailed to the address on file. After reviewing the document, please click YES in the email to acknowledge that your child may conduct the labs at home and that you and your child will abide by the terms of the agreement. Agreement affirmation MUST be received before course laboratory work can be conducted.
