Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working by myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need the printer, tablet, and the button maker.
What is your plan to create in this project?
I want to create buttons.
What unique qualities will your project have?
It will be picture that I like and are personalized to me.
Today I set up my website.
Today I looked at how to videos.
Today I printed pictures out to make buttons out of. Tomorrow I am bringing my own picture that I can make into a button. I also made one button and it turned out pretty good.
Today I made some more buttons. I also printed a couple more pictures to make more buttons. Which they turned out pretty good.
Today I started on my website like photos, videos, and reflection.
Day 6
I just made my videos then turned it in.
Using a button maker, tablet, and a printer, I created buttons that I liked because I thought it would be cool to make some buttons. Another reason is I thought they would look cool on my wall because I have a wall in my room that is covered in posters and other random stuff and I thought it would look cool up with all of my other posters and stuff on my wall.
During this process, I learned that it is not very hard to make a button. I thought it was gonna be this long process when really it wasn't. Another thing I learned is that the paper can't be too big or the plastic won't stick. One more thing I learned was that you don't have to push down very hard for it to work which I thought you would have to push it down pretty hard.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I am learning from my mistakes like I accidently put the plastic sheet on wrong and so I was off the side a little so it didn't go on right.
A challenge I overcame on this project was the plastic part that you have to put over the paper so the button will stay together wouldn't stay and the whole thing would fall apart. I was able to do it by grabbing a new piece of plastic and would make sure it was in line with the maker and wasn't going off the edge. Another thing I did to fix it was press down. harder.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the pictures that would go in the button maker. The reason why I would change it is because the pictures, are pictures I like but they aren't very personalized. If I were to d this again I would bring in one of my one pictures. I could've done that for this project but I kept on forgetting to bring one into school.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Construction Trades CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in Manufacturing because I am making buttons by putting them together. A career I could do that connects manufacturing is assemblers which construct products and the parts that go into them. Another job that connects to manufacturing is quality control which is wear they test raw products to make sure they are good. There salary is 46.530.
These are the final buttons.
This is a video of how I made the buttons
