7P8- Makey Makey

Using circuit play ground express, iPad, and a computer. I created a paper that can connect to a computer, because I wanted to learn about how circuit's connect with other conductive materials. I needed to figure out how the wires conducted to our body to make the makey makey work. The piano helped a lot with making this work.

During this process, I learned how to connect wires to paper. I also made the makey makey connect to the computer. I learned how to connect the ground wire to one of the buttons. I also learned that you needed to use your finger to make this project work. 

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge Constructor because I watched a lot of videos on how to connect the makey makey to the computer. Then how to connect the wires to the paper from the makey makey. I went on many websites to figure what I was doing wrong. I learned what I was doing wrong by using the online resources. 

A challenge I overcame on this project was I spent many days on one error. I couldn't figure out why my project wasn't working. I changed my project many times. I was able to do it by I asked one of my classmates for help. I asked him because he figured how to connect everything that needed to be connected. 

Given a chance to do this again, I would change How simple the project was. The reason why I would change it is because I figured out how to do the project in on day after we got it working and felt it was to easy. We didn't add anymore complicated things. I could have added many more buttons for the piano if there was a better website for the piano. 

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School.  

My project connects to careers in Game designer because I used basic coding to design a simple project. You could make a very cool game. Any kind of game and your own creativity. Anyone can be a game desginer because of the simple coding for the remote.
