Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
By myself
What materials will you need for your project?
micro:bit, computer, and iPad
What is your plan to create in this project?
a design that I can code on a micro:bit
What unique qualities will your project have?
The code will be longer than many others
Day 1: I made my list of ten
Day 2: Today I started on the code
Day 3: Today I continued on the code
Day 4: Kept going wit the code
Day 5: Today I finished my iMovie
Day 6: today I finished my project and finished the reflection
This is a video of my micro:bit
Using Micro:Bit, I created an animation because People need something to watch. This animation gives people who are bored something to do. Instead of sitting around doing nothing, people can watch the animation and look at the code, making them smarter.
During this process, I learned how to code a "movie" that people can watch. This movie was coded and not made the traditional way, making it different and cool to see. This also makes the movie a learning experience, teaching people usable skills.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to computational thinker because I solved a problem I had using technology. I had the problem of being bored and I wanted to watch a movie so I programmed one.
A challenge I overcame on this project was not knowing what to do. I was able to do it by getting ideas from those around me. I watched and got an idea without just stealing their idea.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the quantity of the projects. The reason why I would change it is because I would like to have multiple micro:bit projects at a time. I only did one micro:bit with two different events on it; however, I would like to have many more.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the computer programming CTE program at Hastings High School. This is because I programmed a little computer called a micro:bit.
My project connects to careers in computer programming because you have to code, which is programming on a micro:bit. These careers relate to micro:bit coding because you can switch the coding language in micro:bit. The coding in micro:bit can relate to the coding in those jobs and can be used in those jobs.
