I am working with Karen
We are going to need toothpicks, hot glue, paper towel tubes, and paint.
We are going to take a box and hot glue paper towel tubes to the top and sides for towers, add a spider to the big center tower and then paint it all.
The door will work and the spiders legs will be bent and able to move..
Day 1 : We worked on our 10 Good Idea lists
Day 2 : We found a good box for the castle and made the working door
Day 3: We made the towers and added 2 to the castle
Day 4:We made the head for the spider and attached the 2 more towers
Day 5:We attached the final, big, center tower, made and attached the spider.
Day 6: We began painting the castle
Day 7: We finished painting and started our video.
Day 8:We finished our video and did our reflection.
Using cardboard, duct tape, straws, string, paper towel tubes, and paint, I created a chocolate castle with a spider on top and a working door because I thought it would be fun but challenging. The hardest part of this project was figuring out how to paint it without grey paint. The easiest part of this project was making the spider and towers.
During this process, I learned not all ideas are going to work but you can always improvise and change your idea. I also learned that if you know you get along with someone you should probably work with someone. This is because if you do not get along with someone you will probably not agree on an idea and probably won't get much done.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge Constructor because me and my partner had a great time making this project and we loved having each other for a partner. It also ties to Innovative Designer because I improvised and came up with new ideas.
A challenge I overcame on this project was we were not going to be able to make the dragon due to not having enough time. I was able to do it by talking with my partner about how we did not have enough time and should probably change our idea and so we came up with doing a spider instead. We also did not have the right color of paint so we used brown and made the castle a chocolate castle.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change that we didn't do the dragon. The reason why I would change it is because I think that it would've been very cool but we did not have enough time.I would also paint the castle grey and not brown.
