The Robot is finished
Using a instruction guide, I created a abii robot because I had a opportunity to put together a robot that can teach kids k-5 grade. It can also watch kids to make sure they get work done and they understand the lesson. I also put it together because it can improve kids learning abilities.
During this process, I learned how to build a robot that can help kids. I also learned how some motors work and that their placement really matters for the limb to move. I also learned how much data a tiny green board can hold.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Global Collaborator because I was using digital tools to put together a robot. I talked to my peers if I needed any help on my project and were helping others if help needed.
A challenge I overcame on this project was finding the instruction guide. I was able to do it by asking for help and getting the answer. Another challenge that I overcame was the step-by-step guide to build the robot, it was just a little confusing. The lights and camera angles didn't help on some steps.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change my website. The reason why I would change it is because my website is basic. I would change how it looks, I would've changed the background so it would show the robot more than ever.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. I created a website which connects to my project making it stand out more and showing people what I created/put together.
My project connects to careers in Research Engineer because I did a bunch of research before I started to put together my robot. I had to do research about the robot to put it together and learn the parts about it. I learned throughout the process the components of the robot that make it move or give it information.
