Reflection

• Using the button maker, circle cutter, and my computer, I created a bunch of buttons for me and my friends because it sounded really fun to make buttons for people. Also because I wanted to put some on my bag. Another reasoning is because I always wondered how those were made and now that I know its pretty cool.

• During this process, I learned how to take a picture from google and turn it into a button. Also I learned how to use a button maker and what way to put everything. I also learned how to make a video on how to.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to being a empowered learner because I had go to videos on how to make a button. Also had to figure out like what order to put them in the machine.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was not knowing how to cut out your picture. I was able to do it by going back to see the videos students have made to see what to use to cut it out. I was also able to over come how and what order to put things in the button maker. I over came that by looking at another how to video to make sure I did it right.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the sizes I made the images. The reason why I would change it is because I made some to small which made it to where there was a lot of white spaces on my first few. I also would change how many images I put on a paper becasue I only put one per paper and that made me use a lot of paper.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing.  My project connects to the Engineering design CTE program at Hastings High School. I believe that engineering design ties to my project more than all the other ones.

• My project connects to careers in Engineering design because I designed and made my own button. Jobs that tie with engineering design is a mechanical engineer, and also project engineer. I also used a picture from the internet to design a button.
