Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working by myself for this project.
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need TinkerCAD, 3D printer, computer, Chromebook, pictures/snip-its, and
What is your plan to create in this project?
My plan is to create a link chain that can move and connect at the ends.
What unique qualities will your project have?
My project is 3D printed, it will start off small then slowly become bigger then small again, the two ends of my link chain will be able to connect, and it will move a bit but not a ton.
Using TinkerCAD, a Chromebook, a computer, a 3D printer, I created a link chain that gradally becomes bigger then smaller again that will connect at the ends and move a little bit but not a lot because I wanted to create something that would help me with my fidgeting in public..
During this process, I learned how to create multiple different hinges which allow for movement of a 3D print, how to make link chains, and how to use TinkerCAD a little bit better.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Global Collaborator because I am sharing my project with the entire world to see.
A challenge I overcame on this project was figuring out what to make for the project. I was able to do it by looking up ideas, using other students projects as references and looking up tutorials on 3D printing in TinkerCAD.
Given a chance to this again, I would change how long my link chain is. The reason why I would change it is because the link chain is short and I was hoping to make a longer link chain.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Enineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in digital engineers because I used TinkerCAD to create a digital model of what i was gonna make into the real world.
Using TinkerCAD, iPad, 3D printer, a computer, and a Chromebook, I created a chain that gradually becomes bigger then smaller again to connect at the ends and move around. During this process, I learned how to create multiple different types of connects by watching tutorials and trying it on my own. Out of the 7 standards my project ties to Global Collaborator because I'm an sharing my project with everyone who goes on my website. A challenge I overcame during this project was figuring out what to make for the project. I was able to figure what I should make for the project by looking at previous students websites to see what they had made for the 3D printing project. Given a chance to this again, I would change how long and big my link chain is. The reason why i would change it is because I made my chain really small by accident and it is super short. Out of all the CTE programs at the Hastings High School my project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at the Hastings High School because I designed my project. My projects connects to careers in digital engineers because I used TinkerCAD to creat a digital model of what I was gonna make into real life.
