***See information below about electronics expectations.
As we work toward complying with new state legislation that will restrict student access to cell phones (Fall 2026), we want to share important expectations for when we return in January. All electronic devices must be turned off and put away before students enter the building. This includes all cell phones, tablets, Apple Watches, and any other smart devices. Additionally, students will no longer need wireless headsets of any kind moving forward. Wired headsets used with a school issued Chromebook will be the only ones acceptable. From the hours of 7:30-3:35, no student will be permitted to have or use any device other than their school issued Chromebook.
We are beginning communication now to help families prepare for these changes in January, and prepare for next fall.
Looking ahead to the fall of 2026, state legislation will prohibit students from accessing their devices at all during the school day. As we get closer to next fall, we will develop and share a detailed plan to ensure full compliance with this law.
Thank you for your support in helping keep our school a focused and distraction-free environment.
Hello NHMS Parents!
North Hall Middle School has been diligently working toward our transition to a STEAM school, and we are proud of the outstanding presentations, research, and collaboration we have seen from our students thus far. As we begin this next semester, we will be shifting from grade-level driving questions to an exciting new approach: students will now develop and explore their own driving questions. This change is designed to foster a truly student-centered experience during STEAM time.
The primary goal of this project is to support your child in developing strong research skills, engaging in creative and critical thinking, and cultivating innovative ideas.
Although the majority of the work will take place during our dedicated STEAM period on Tuesdays, we kindly ask for your partnership in encouraging and supporting your child’s efforts at home whenever possible. We are extremely excited about this opportunity and confident that, with your support, our students will accomplish remarkable things in the upcoming semester.
Thank you for all that you do. We look forward to sharing these student-created STEAM passion projects with you in March 2026.
Access Testing will take place on the following dates: January 28-29 and February 4-5.
Soccer season is just around the corner, with Girl’s Soccer Tryouts starting in Feb. Pre-conditioning workouts will start on T, January 13th. We will workout every Tuesday & Thursday for the month of January from 4-4:45 at the lower field. For your child to qualify for pre-conditioning, they must have an updated sports physical uploaded on DragonFly Max. If you need help with DragonFly Max, please contact Coach Hatcher at megan.hatcher@hallco.org. Please join the GroupMe for 2026 Soccer for weekly updates.
Please congratulate our Trojan Super Spellers who competed in the Hall County School District Spelling Bee! Mylie Patterson, Kai Howell, and Taraji Lewis all represented NHMS very well! Our spellers finished in the top 10 which is a tremendous achievement! Go Trojans!
