GROWing Better Today than Yesterday
GROWing Better Today than Yesterday
Hello Bear Family!
It may sound trite, but I am writing this finding myself at a loss as to where February went. After the ice and snow, I feel like we blinked and here we are in a new month!
We got a lot accomplished in that month from wrapping up winter sports, entering into playoffs, to kicking off our spring sports. We are also in full swing of competition season for our band and chorus (LGPE), along with our CTAE department. There is plenty going on around campus, so make it a point to come out and see our students thrive!
The bulk of the registration process is completed, thanks to all of our teachers and counselors, under the direct leadership of our curriculum assistant principal, Micah Porter and our career tech assistant principal, Shannon Reed. The whole team has done a wonderful job coordinating all of the efforts to include information in Innovation, visits from our duel enrollment specialists, 8th grade visits, and finally meeting with every rising 10th - 12th grader. I hope you have had some conversations about what classes your child has been recommended as well as which electives interest them, as they were able to make requests for those. EVERY student has had conversations with their 7 current teachers and a member of the registration team, so there is a lot talk about as your students create their future paths towards becoming a CBHS graduate.
Thank you all for your continued support of the various programs and teams at CBHS. I am so proud of our students and our community and the good things that are happening here. I hope to see you out in this gorgeous weather at one of the events. Until then, make good choices, and as always Go Bears!
Love,
Mrs. Ramsey

We want your feedback! The state of Georgia sends out climate surveys every year to help individual schools grow. I am asking for parents/guardians to go to the following link and complete the survey for CBHS. https://survey.gadoe.org/FM?sid=1345AAD5 Your students were sent a different link for student input prior to the holiday break through Canvas. We will be resending the student link next week for those who have not completed it. Again, the attached link is specifically for parents/guardians. Thank you in advance for your help in helping us grow to be the best high school experience that we can be for your students!
Student IDs & Dress Code
Dress Code is linked HERE (on digital page 11) and is in the Student Agenda as well linked to our webpage.
Please refer to Student McBearson as a visual example of dress code expectations.
IDs are part of our school dress code. All students, staff, subs, and visitors are expected to wear an ID on a lanyard around the neck during the school day. This is for the safety of everyone in our building.
Please consider these guidelines when purchasing Back to School clothes. While our first concern is that students remain in class, students who consistently defy the dress code will have consequences beginning with calling a parent or guardian to bring other clothing to school and ending with possible ISS for not following school rules.
Please consider these guidelines above and the visual to the right when purchasing Back to School clothes. While our first concern is that students remain in class, students who consistently defy the dress code will have consequences beginning with calling a guardian to bring other clothing to school and ending with possible ISS for not following school rules.
All lunchroom balances must be paid off each month. Balances carry over year to year. It is also important to remember that you are unable to walk at graduation without having a $0 balance. If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call. Below is the link to look at your personalized MyPaymentPlus account.
Is your student 16? If so, they MUST have the Meningitis Booster.

Senior Nathan Shaw was recognized last night at the school board meeting for his CTAE successes. He completed the metals pathway, has been working 20+ hours a week at Kubota through Work-Based Learning and was offered full time employment with them after graduation. He plans to pursue a degree in electrical engineering but is keeping in touch with Kubota to possibly apprentice or help open doors for the future. We are proud of the way he represented our school.
We celebrated with our Outstanding Student recognition luncheon. Each pathway selected a student who goes above and beyond in our programs and celebrated with a luncheon. I’ve attached the list of students and shoutout from their teachers.
February is Georgia CTI month. Throughout the year, Cherokee Bluff students have participated in a variety of events that aim to increase post-secondary opportunities. These events include the North Georgia Leadership Retreat, attending technical colleges on tours, and the Georgia CTI Fall Leadership Conference."
Congratulations to our STAR Student, Jack Martin. STAR Students are the students who scored the highest on the SAT for the Class of 2026. Each STAR Student chooses a STAR Teacher that has made an impact on their education, and Jack chose our CTAE Engineering Teacher, Jason Barnes. They were celebrated this month with a STAR Student/Teacher luncheon with all the other STAR Students and Teacher from Hall Co. Congratulations, Jack and Mr. Barnes!!
