GROWing Better Today than Yesterday
GROWing Better Today than Yesterday
Hello Bear Family!
It has been such a wonderful start to the new year! It is a little weird acknowledging the fact that we have completed a full month of school, but here we are knocking on September's door.
One of the new things we started this year involved a change to the sound of our bells. I would encourage you to ask your students what they think of the new sounds ( and bonus if they can remember the name of the song...hint, we tried to connect it to a color of CBHS).
We have 2 new faces who everyone will need to know. First is Mrs. Kristen Erwin who is joining us as our school nurse. She has jumped right in as an important member of the Bluff family, so we are very happy to have her! Next is Deputy Ed Lyons who will be our CBHS SRO beginning September 2. Please introduce yourselves to him when you see him and welcome him to the Bluff. We are excited to have him join us!
We shared the following information regarding our exam exemption incentives earlier this month through Remind and IC Messenger, but I wanted to share it out again so everyone has the information.
Final exams are the expectations for all high school classes. However, as an incentive to increase our attendance and to continue to achieve academic success, we are going to offer an exam exemption incentive beginning September 2nd. (August absences will not count against any student.) This is an incentive, not a penalty for those who may not meet all the criteria below.
For a yearlong course, a student who has a yearly average of 90 and 5 or less absences may be exempt from the teacher’s final exam. For a semester course, a student who has final average of 90 and 3 or less absences may be exempt from the teacher’s final exam. Absences include all excused and unexcused absences.
No student can exempt an EOC, End of Pathway, nor an AP exam.
Student absences for Cherokee Bluff High School field trips and Cherokee Bluff High School athletic competitions do not count against the total absences. Exam exemptions will be determined by each class period.
Thank you again for partnering with us to help our students from wearing IDs, to dress code, to bringing Chromebooks charged and ready to go, I wanted to say thank you for your help in reminding our students about all of these!
Make good choices, and always Go Bears!
Love,
Mrs. Ramsey

Student IDs & Dress Code
Dress Code is linked HERE (on digital page 11) and is in the Student Agenda as well linked to our webpage.
Please refer to Student McBearson as a visual example of dress code expectations.
IDs are part of our school dress code. All students, staff, subs, and visitors are expected to wear an ID on a lanyard around the neck during the school day. This is for the safety of everyone in our building.
Please consider these guidelines when purchasing Back to School clothes. While our first concern is that students remain in class, students who consistently defy the dress code will have consequences beginning with calling a parent or guardian to bring other clothing to school and ending with possible ISS for not following school rules.
Please consider these guidelines above and the visual to the right when purchasing Back to School clothes. While our first concern is that students remain in class, students who consistently defy the dress code will have consequences beginning with calling a guardian to bring other clothing to school and ending with possible ISS for not following school rules.
All lunchroom balances must be paid off each month. Balances carry over year to year. It is also important to remember that you are unable to walk at graduation without having a $0 balance. If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call. Below is the link to look at your personalized MyPaymentPlus account.

LEGACY is excited to announce our annual Gold Out football game is 9/26.
Gold Out is an evening dedicated to honoring and supporting those in our community who have been impacted by childhood cancer. It’s a special opportunity to connect with these individuals, hear their stories, and show them compassion and encouragement during a challenging time.
All donations collected this year will go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Look for information in the upcoming weeks about ways to get involved.
Student athletes are required to update their Dragon Fly account each year prior to the first day of practice. This includes an updated physical on the official form. Please check our website for additional information.

Our lunchroom staff here at CBHS are PHENOMENAL! They love our students so much and it shows through the love they put into our student and staffs food each day. Recently our very own Ms. Olga had the featured "Tray of the Week". Each week Mrs. Olga makes beautiful salads and sandwiches. Each nutrition staff worker here at CBHS takes such pride in serving us each day. Thank you for your hard work!!!
Congratulations to the students who were chosen to represent their class for our 2025 Homecoming Court. Homecoming will be Oct. 4th. Look for more info to come out soon.
Jo was chosen as 1 of 6 students to represent Hall Co. among 1600 other students nationwide to go to Washington DC on behalf of Jackson EMC. Delegates were selected for their academic achievement, community service, and leadership potential. Jackson EMC selects four delegates. Children of Jackson EMC employees apply through a statewide contest. This year, Georgia EMC selected two statewide delegates from Jackson EMC.
