GROWing Better Today than Yesterday
GROWing Better Today than Yesterday
Hello Bear Family!
I am not sure if anyone else can relate, but I cannot figure out how we got to the end of September!
I have to brag on your kids - for the most part, our students are rocking this year! From wearing IDs, to getting involved in clubs and extra-curriculars, to performances in fine arts and athletics, we are so blessed to work with the best kids in Hall County.
I hope you all had the chance to take part in some of the festivities for Gold Out, an annual event our Legacy program leads for our entire community, that culminated last Friday night at the football game. It makes me so proud to see our community do a small part in the fight against childhood cancer. I pray that we will live to see this terrible disease eradicated so no family ever has to battle this enemy again!
Currently, we are in the middle of our Homecoming week and all of the dress up days and festivities that go along with it as well. I want to thank all of our staff who work many additional hours to create these memory making events for our students.
Looking forward to seeing our students as they dress up for spirit days and in their finest for the dance on Saturday!
Make good choices, and always Go Bears!
Love,
Mrs. Ramsey
The 9 week period ends on October 3rd. This is a great time to check grades on Infinite Campus and encourage students to turn in make-up work. Grades are not finalized at the end of the 9 week period so there is still plenty of time. If your child is having a tough time, consider these things:
Attendance is one of the key factors in student's academic success. Are they here everyday?
Seeing missing assignments and not sure if they have been turned in? Check in with the teacher to get clarification.
Consider setting up a parent teacher conference. Reach out to your child's counselor and they can arrange a meeting for all of the teachers to be present.
AP Testing dates have been announced. Visit the link below to see when you will test in May and put that date on your calendar!
Got questions? Reach out to Dr. Sarah Kent or Mr. Shannon Reed they are here to help!
The PSAT NMSQT is scheduled for October 21st Free of Charge for all Class of 2028 students. SAT School Day will be given on this day as well.

Mock Interviews will be held on November 6th for third level CTAE students. If you or a representative of your company is interested in being an interviewer please contact Carin Booth.

Student IDs & Dress Code
Dress Code is linked HERE (on digital page 11) and is in the Student Agenda as well linked to our webpage.
Please refer to Student McBearson as a visual example of dress code expectations.
IDs are part of our school dress code. All students, staff, subs, and visitors are expected to wear an ID on a lanyard around the neck during the school day. This is for the safety of everyone in our building.
Please consider these guidelines when purchasing Back to School clothes. While our first concern is that students remain in class, students who consistently defy the dress code will have consequences beginning with calling a parent or guardian to bring other clothing to school and ending with possible ISS for not following school rules.
Please consider these guidelines above and the visual to the right when purchasing Back to School clothes. While our first concern is that students remain in class, students who consistently defy the dress code will have consequences beginning with calling a guardian to bring other clothing to school and ending with possible ISS for not following school rules.
All lunchroom balances must be paid off each month. Balances carry over year to year. It is also important to remember that you are unable to walk at graduation without having a $0 balance. If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call. Below is the link to look at your personalized MyPaymentPlus account.
Please Welcome Nurse Kristen to the Bluff Family!!

LEGACY is excited to announce our annual Gold Out football game is 9/26.
Gold Out is an evening dedicated to honoring and supporting those in our community who have been impacted by childhood cancer. It’s a special opportunity to connect with these individuals, hear their stories, and show them compassion and encouragement during a challenging time.
All donations collected this year will go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Look for information in the upcoming weeks about ways to get involved.
Student athletes are required to update their Dragon Fly account each year prior to the first day of practice. This includes an updated physical on the official form. Please check our website for additional information.

Cross Country Bluff / Branch 5K
Join us for an exciting 5K fundraiser where Cherokee Bluff and Flowery Branch compete to get the most participants signed up.
Volleyball
The Bears are off to a strong start this season with a 9-4 record. Notable wins include victories over North Cobb, Gainesville, Loganville, and North Hall. The team will be competing in the Hall County Tournament on Saturday, September 6.
In a true act of sportsmanship, Luis Casteneda of EHHS recognized that Gabe Bridenstine and Gavin Mendonca of CBHS were running as a unified pair(Bridenstine is non-speaking and autistic and Mendonca volunteers as a guide and typical peer partner). As the three approached the finish line, Castenda slowed his pace, waving Bridenstine and Mendoca ahead, allowing the pair to finish a step ahead as he smiled and applauded the finish. Hall County Cares and this is a beautiful example of how we foster inclusion and sportsmanship.
Congratulations to the students who were chosen to represent their class for our 2025 Homecoming Court. Homecoming will be Oct. 4th. Look for more info to come out soon.
Jo was chosen as 1 of 6 students to represent Hall Co. among 1600 other students nationwide to go to Washington DC on behalf of Jackson EMC. Delegates were selected for their academic achievement, community service, and leadership potential. Jackson EMC selects four delegates. Children of Jackson EMC employees apply through a statewide contest. This year, Georgia EMC selected two statewide delegates from Jackson EMC.
