GROWing Better Today than Yesterday
Hello Bear Family!
I must reiterate... what an awesome time it is to be a BEAR! Since our last edition of this newsletter, your students have achieved TWO more State Runner Up placements! Congratulations to Coach Joiner and our Lady Bears softball team who competed valiantly in Columbus early this month. We are so proud of these ladies and all of their hard work. Last weekend, our competition cheerleading team competed in Macon and brought home a trophy for the third year in a row, clearly establishing our team as dominant program in the state under the leadership of Coach Cooper. We are so proud of the way the conduct themselves on and off the mat. All of our student athletes have to be balance their athletic abilities with their academic achievement... not an easy feat for a teenager to do!
As you kick off your holidays, I hope that you get to the Flowery Branch parade this evening to see our CBHS band perform. Both our band and chorus will have holiday concerts in December as well. Live theater more your jam? Our theater will be performing Frozen, Jr. in mid-December.
As we all get a few days to rest, I want to say how grateful I am to be part of this community. The goodness and hearts of our students are visible every day in the little moments. My mom always said that it never gets old as a parent to hear compliments about her kids. The same is true in my role. My heart swells with pride when I watch students hold the door for each other, offer to help students with a greater need, and/or are complimented for the ways they conduct themselves in public. Thank you for instilling in your students a desire to serve and be kind. At the end of the day, THAT is what truly matters!
I pray you all get to immerse yourselves with the people you love and who love you this week. Happy Thanksgiving, make good choices, and as always Go Bears!
Love,
Mrs. Ramsey
November 6th at 6pm in the theater will be our next parent information session on Dual Enrollment. Current 10th and 11th graders that are interested should plan to attend with a parent or guardian.
The majority of classes at Cherokee Bluff High School are year-long. Ninth through eleventh grade students will begin hearing about registration for the 26-27 school year in the coming months. Our Pre-registration night for parents will be scheduled in January and classes selected the following week.
Term 1 grades were posted to Infinite Campus on October 6th. Please check your Parent Campus account regularly to ensure your child is on track.
If your child is having a tough time, consider these things:
Attendance is one of the key factors in student's academic success. Are they here everyday?
Seeing missing assignments and not sure if they have been turned in? Check in with the teacher to get clarification.
Consider setting up a parent teacher conference. Reach out to your child's counselor and they can arrange a meeting for all of the teachers to be present.
AP Testing dates have been announced. Visit the link below to see when you will test in May and put that date on your calendar!

Student IDs & Dress Code
Dress Code is linked HERE (on digital page 11) and is in the Student Agenda as well linked to our webpage.
Please refer to Student McBearson as a visual example of dress code expectations.
IDs are part of our school dress code. All students, staff, subs, and visitors are expected to wear an ID on a lanyard around the neck during the school day. This is for the safety of everyone in our building.
Please consider these guidelines when purchasing Back to School clothes. While our first concern is that students remain in class, students who consistently defy the dress code will have consequences beginning with calling a parent or guardian to bring other clothing to school and ending with possible ISS for not following school rules.
Please consider these guidelines above and the visual to the right when purchasing Back to School clothes. All lunchroom balances must be paid off each month. Balances carry over year to year. It is also important to remember that you are unable to walk at graduation without having a $0 balance.
