Every year on the day before spring break Hackettstown High School hosts an activity day to give students a chance to relax, connect with friends, and celebrate the start of vacation. This year, on April 2nd, students enjoyed two hours at the end of the half day to participate in a wide variety of fun events. With options ranging from competitive games to creative activities, there was truly something for everyone to enjoy.
One of the biggest highlights of the day was the dodgeball tournament, where teams of students competed for bragging rights and gift cards. For students looking to treat themselves, the Dunkin’ truck and Kona Ice truck returned this year, offering snacks and refreshing samples.
Students who prefered a more relaxed atmosphere took part in board games, watched movies, or sang their favorite songs during karaoke sessions. Creative minds also participated in rock painting, turning basic stones into works of art.
In addition to the fun, Activity Day also provided students with a chance to give back to the community. An empanada sale helped raise class funds, and a clothing drive sponsered by National Honor Society encouraged students to donate lightly used items to people in need.
Spring Activity Day is a relatively new, but special tradition at HHS that brings the school together before the beginning of Spring Break. No matter what students decided to do during the day, it was an exciting and fun way to start off their spring vacation.
