What kinds of games will you make?
You will make a range of games from puzzle and maze games to arcade, platform and scrolling games. There are options to make first person games and other styles such as racing games for the major design project.
What sorts of careers can this study lead to?
This subject can lead to game design and development, software engineering, IT and computer science careers.
What skills and techniques will you learn?
You will learn how to use Gamemaker Studio 2, a basic game engine to develop your game. You will learn skills in designing sprites, backgrounds, and tilesets to further enhance your games. Additionally, you will learn to develop your algorithmic thinking skills as you practice problem decomposition and problem solving skills.
What VCE studies does this subject lead to?
This subject can lead to VCE Applied Computing and VCE Software Development.
