In this subject, students design and create garments based on a range of design briefs. You will hone your sewing skills by making your own pyjama pants and learn the skills of fashion drawing. You will create a final product of your choosing to suit an end user.
What kinds of products will you make?
You will use the design process to research and create design ideas, from here you will make garments which fit you, such as Pyjamas and skirts or pants.

What VCE studies does this subject lead to?
This subject leads to VCE Product Design and Technology, Studio Art and Visual Communication Design. As well as Certificate II in Applied Fashion Design and Technology through TAFE as a VET subject.

If you are a student who enjoys fashion and designing and would like to try garment construction, fabric dyeing and fabric embellishment or you might just like to try something new with a practical component then this is the subject for you. If you loved Year 9 Textiles or Art Wear then this subject is for you.
