Year 8 Food Technology is designed for students to learn basic cooking skills with the aim to make meals safely at home for themselves and their families. Students learn how to safely and hygienically prepare food, select healthy food and understand the impact of their choices, learn about current ethical and sustainability issues as well as make informed ethical decisions about the food they choose. Students will use the Design Process to adapt and create dishes.
All students complete one semester of Year 8 Food Technology in their elective block.
