Dr Robert Thirsk
Canadian Space Agency Astronaut Dr Robert Thirsk has always been an incredible support of the initiates in our classrooms. He is a champion of Tomatosphere and even came to host a live downlik with David Saint Jaques at ECVS and even took time out to come and talk to my students and let them show him their space projects. During the COVID19 pandemic Dr Thirsk generously gave live virtual sessions to our students and made a challenging time that much better.
We were fortunate enough to VC with Dr Dave both in 2019 and during the 2020 COVID 19 Pandemic and ask him questions about being a CSA astronaut, growing plants under water, his books and everything we could think of about space. It was wonderful to be able to learn about his inspiring journey and put a face to the books we have been enjoying in class.
