Spring 2025

The 8th graders are tasked this semester with learning to program with Unity, a modern game engine used to design video games that are industry standard today.

2D Mobile Game

For this project, students wrote code for a 2D Mobile game. I posted those online for others to play. These games only work well when played from a mobile device.

Dance Music Video

For this project, students used multiple skills of animation to create a dance music video. The students should have animated the dancers, the camera, and even lights.

Unity World

First quarter is all about learning basics. Students learned to create simple shapes and then from there how to create larger and more complicated shapes. Eventually, they learned to create entire world's with mountains and trees. They even learned how to create their own skies for their worlds. Then, they learned how to add to the realism of their worlds be adding sound effects, lighting effects, and special visual effects like fire effects or environment effects. The last thing they learned was how to use simple animations make the sun rotate to create a full day and night cycle. Below are video recordings of the worlds that they have spent the last couple months on. In the video description, you should find a statement made by the student on the world that they made.
