Fall 2021

Below are arcade games made by our seventh grade students. Each one was created with Javascript based block code on MakeCode Arcade by Microsoft.

Final Game

This is the student's final project. Their goal is to use everything they have learned to make a game good enough that people outside of our classroom or school would want to play it. The best games will be put on a physical arcade machine at the school. Students are also encouraged to share their games with the online community.

Original Game

This game marks the final project of the quarter. Students come up with the concept and create it on their own.

For this assignment, students are tasked with creating a program that uses functions, conditions, music, animation, and includes an outside extension of their choosing.

For this assignment, students make a multilevel game with an animated sprite.

This was 7th grades first full game assignment. They all start by creating similar games, but then are challenged to make it unique.

Projectile Game

In this assignment, students use what they learned about coding projectiles to make a new game.

Bouncing Game

In this activity, students go through the process of creating a game from concept to development. The game they make is called "Bouncing Man" and it is the first game of theirs to introduce gravity and physics. Students are then told to make changes to this game to make it their own.
