7th Grade

Fall 2022

Below are arcade games made by our seventh grade students. Each one was created with Javascript based block code on MakeCode Arcade by Microsoft. Names with *asterisks* around them are games that I felt did an exceptional job or were a lot of fun to play.

Original Game

This game marks the final project of the quarter. Students come up with the concept and create it on their own.

Dungeon Game

For this assignment, students make an advanced game that uses a tilemap, animations, logic, functions, and an extension.

Final Game

This is the student's final project. Their goal is to use everything they have learned to make a game good enough that people outside of our classroom or school would want to play it. The best games will be put on a physical arcade machine at the school.

Chasing Game

This was 7th grades first full game assignment. They all start by creating similar games, but then are challenged to make it unique.

Projectile Game

For this assignment, my students worked with students from other classes on a Mission To Mars project. My students were tasked with building a projectile game based the work of the students from the other classes.

Physics Game

In this activity, students create a game that uses acceleration and velocity. They are told that they can take one of their old projects and improve it or start something brand new.
