I put together our first esports team in December of 2020, to compete in a fundraiser event called Battle Of The Bands. This was a casual event designed to raise money for our band department. I wanted to use it as a launching point to see if having esports at Fisher was something that we could feasibly do in the future.

That first event was a huge success. Fisher students dominated the leaderboards. The next month, the BOTB event continued, and we won once again. Through our prize winnings and fundraising, the team managed to win/raise $650 for our band department and free entry to the 2021 Middle School Esports League's Spring Major, where six of our students made it all the way to the playoffs in Rocket League.

In Fall '22 season, we had 10 students make it to playoffs. By the end of the season our 8th grade Rocket League team, known as the Blazing Jeffs, took first place winning the entire nation-wide competition! In Spring of '23 that same team brought a second trophy to Fisher placing 3rd in the Atlantic Division.
