The 8th graders were tasked this semester with learning to use Unity, a modern game engine used to design video games that are industry standard today. Below are links to their work. The *asterisks* that you see around certain student's names are to identify that they did an excellent job on their assignment or that I consider their program really fun to play.
For this last project, students were to choose which game of theirs they were most proud of and wanted to promote. Then, they were to make a gameplay trailer to promote that game. Trailers should have a title, sound, real gameplay footage, and should highlight key aspects of the game.

For this project, students were challenged to take everything they had learned to make the best game they could make. They were allowed to use tutorials and templates to get started but were then supposed to make their own game with it.

For this assignment, students were given a few working cars and an empty space to build. They were tasked with using what they learned about coding 3D shapes and prefabs to build a fun driving course.
For this assignment, students were tasked with taking what they learned in this unit to create a third person style game where the player gets points by collecting objects.
For this assignment, students were tasked with taking either their Driving Course game or their Third-Person game and improving it with special effects that they spent about 5 weeks learning to do.
This first assignment was a "Crash & Learn" project. Before officially starting the Unity course and learning the ins and outs of the software, students got to pick between three beginner tutorials: the kart game, the 2D platformer, and the fps. Once they finished the tutorial, they were then tasked with customizing their game to make it their own.
