School Resource Officer
Description
We are looking for a dedicated school resource officer to provide security and develop safety plans for our school. The school resource officer's responsibilities include developing the best safety procedures for potential threats in the school, conducting drills with students and staff, breaking up fights, and de-escalating aggression between students and between students and teachers. The school resource officer is the main security resource of the school.
To be successful as a school resource officer, you should have patience and an even temper, and the ability to mediate fights and arguments. You should be a moral and ethical role model for students.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Must satisfactorily pass an in-depth Background Investigation
Must satisfactorily pass physical fitness Fit for Duty Assessment
Meet all DOCJT requirements
Breaking up fights and arguments and assisting all parties to talk through their differences
Patrolling the school grounds, ensuring overall safety, viewing videos and security monitors, and watching for strangers or suspicious activity
Giving assembly presentations on school safety, drug and alcohol abuse, bullying, and online safety
Protecting the school and students against theft and property damage, and assisting in medical emergencies
Maintaining positive relationships and contact with students
Working with guidance counselors and support staff to assist students when referrals to service agencies are necessary, or to assist in conflict resolutions
Minimum Qualifications
Training and Experience
Must be at least 21 years of age
High school diploma
POPS Certification preferred
Requirements:
Obligation to possess and maintain a valid drivers’ license as a condition of continued employment.
If not POPS Certified, will be required to attend 20 Week Academy at DOCJT
A patient attitude and even temper
The ability to counsel and interact with children and teenagers
Availability Requirement:
Full-time and part-time positions available
Must be available to work during school hours and within school calendar

Telecommunicator (Dispatcher)
Description
Telecommunicators report to the Dispatch Supervisor and are under the ultimate authority of the Police Chief. Telecommunicators are responsible for performing a number of tasks simultaneously while gathering information from often uncooperative and/or emotional callers. The Telecommunicator must quickly and effectively calm the caller to obtain necessary information to determine what resources need to be dispatched. Telecommunicators are also responsible for overall system status management for emergency and non-emergency calls in Green County.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Ability to develop and maintain cooperative and professional relationships with fellow employees, representatives from other departments, and supervisors
Ability to follow instructions
Administrative duties for NCIC and CJIS.
Answer 911 calls and dispatch correct department to respond
Answer administrative phone lines
Comply with agency established policies
Demonstrate ability to obtain, verify, and analyze incident information to include location, reporting party contact information, nature, and severity of the incident while applying effective communication skills to control the call
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing, actively listen, use appropriate agency terminology, codes, signals, plain speech and the phonetic alphabet
Ensure accurate reporting and documentation of records
Log pertinent information in regard to the particular call.
Understand importance of utilizing chain of command
Use the radio to contact first responders
Utilize the CAD system
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Training and Experience
Must be at least 18 years of age
Graduation from high school or equivalent
On the job training will be provided
Must have basic knowledge of computers
Certification/Licensing Requirements:
Obligation to possess and maintain a valid drivers’ license as a condition of continued employment.
For full-time 911 dispatchers, must be able to attend Telecommunication Academy in Richmond.
Availability Requirement:
The E-911 Center must be staffed 24/7; employees must be able to work irregular hours and irregular shifts

Currently Licensed Water Operator
Description
Assists in the daily operation and maintenance of the water plant, performs related work as required. Operator III and IV may assume responsibility for water plant in absence of Superintendent.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in the daily operation and maintenance of the water plant involving collection and distribution of water in compliance with established procedures and standards and general, state and local laws and ordinances.
Inspects and/or monitors pumps, charts, gauges, wells, tanks and meters daily.
Adds chemicals in accordance with prescribed standards; may assist personnel in collection of water samples; adjusts chemicals as necessary.
Prepares and maintains accurate reports/records; forwards water samples and reports as required.
Performs servicing requirements on plant and equipment; assists in maintaining preventive maintenance programs; makes minor repairs and/or adjustments to plant and equipment; forwards requests for major repairs and/or equipment and tools to supervisor.
Assists in maintaining adequate inventory of spare parts, chemicals, equipment and tools.
Assists in maintaining clean and neat plant and grounds.
Operator III and IV also inspect river intake and may dispatch water/sewer and customer service personnel when calls/complaints received after normal business hours.
Minimum Qualifications
Training and Experience
Graduation from high school or equivalent
Must CURRENTLY possess a operator license in good standing with the Kentucky Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Cabinet
Work experience acceptable by the Kentucky Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Cabinet to have received a Class I, II, III, or IV Water Plant Operators License.
Certification/Licensing Requirements:
Must be able to obtain a Class III Water Plant Operator License issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky immediately upon completion of third (3rd) year of employment in the position; OR…
Possess a Class II, III, or IVA Water Plant Operator License issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Cabinet.
Must possess and maintain a valid drivers’ license as a condition of continued employment.
Availability Requirement:
Must be able to work irregular hours and assigned shift (currently only 1st shift and 2nd shifts, but subject to change)
Must be able to respond to calls in emergency situations at all hours.
