Here, you can find all the information about student leaders, how to become one, and the different sections our marching band has to offer!
Drum Majors have multiple responsibilities in the GEHS Marching Band. They help communicate information from Mr. Allder to the members of the band, help organize practices and rehearsals, conduct the band, and assist band members and sections during any function.
While the Drum Major position is selective to seniors, it is never a bad idea to start thinking about how to be a great influence from day one in the Spartan Marching Band.

Our band is divided into four platoons during camp for social bonding activities and for attendance taking and muster. The leaders of the platoons serve as both facilitators for their platoons and high leaders, second only to the drum majors. They are a select group of senior leaders that represent the soul and brains of the band.

The Greenbrier East Spartan Marching Band has a powerful hornline with over 50 members. The hornline members build upon their sound throughout the year by improving tone, dynamics, articulations, and tuning individually and as a group. However, none of this would be possible without our experienced brass and woodwind instructors and student leaders.
The hornline is made up of woodwinds and brass, which each have their own sections.Â

GEHS Drumline Alumni have gone on to perform for top college programs like the University of Cincinnati, Marshall University, and West Virginia University. Additionally, past drumline members have participated in and/or instructed with Drum Corps International member corps, including the Jersey Surf, Bridgemen, Phantom Regiment, and The Cadets.

In Marching Band, the front ensemble, or pit percussion, is a stationary section consisting of marimbas, xylophones, vibraphones, guitars, pianos, and other miscellaneous percussion and electric instruments. The pit adds an additional level of depth and life to the show! By using tone, tempo, and dynamics, audiences and judges alike are consistently astonished after watching the Greenbrier East Spartan Marching Band's Pit Percussion section.

The loading crew and its leaders are the core brains and brawn behind the movement of the band. WIthout them and their coordination, the band wouldn't be able to move anywhere.
