Spartan Marching Band

a rich history of pride and tradition

Conceived in the Summer & Fall of 1968, the Spartan Marching Band was the product of combining programs from Alderson, Frankford, Greenbrier (Ronceverte), Lewisburg, Renick, White Sulphur Springs, and Williamsburg High Schools. Over the past four decades, the marching band at GEHS has had many honors including performances at college bowl games, NFL football games, the 1993 Presidential Inaugural Parade, the 60th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor, and the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington D.C. The Spartan Marching Band currently competes in the Appalachian Band Association and Tournament of Bands circuits as well as the WV Marching Band Invitational Championships and independent festivals throughout West Virginia.
