2nd Block Rock

In the fall of 2008, a ragtag group of student musicians enrolled in Guitar II class set out on a mission to start a school rock band at Greenbrier East. From humble beginnings, 2nd Block Rock has grown to be known as one of the most innovative school music groups in West Virginia. Having performed three times at the West Virginia Music Educators Association conference, once as a clinic presentation, and twice as an Honor X-Ensemble Finalist, 2nd Block is recognized as a regional leader in the Modern Band Movement.

Membership 2nd Block Rock is open to student musicians from grades 10-12 who successfully pass an audition/interview process. Ideal candidates for membership will have experience or show potential in one of the following areas: Vocals, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano, Drumset, Horn Section (Trumpet/Bone/Sax), Music Technology (Sound/Production), or Management. Most importantly, members need to have established a reputation of high morale character and trustworthiness with peers and adults.
