Tech Design

SDCI offers five courses all about technological design. TDJ 2O, which is the grade 10 class, TDJ 3M, TDJ 3O, which are the grade 11 classes, and TDJ 4M, TDJ 4O, which are the grade 12 classes. Our Tech design courses provide students with opportunities to apply a design process to meet a variety of technological challenges. As students progress through the different courses they will expand their knowledge as they get into the senior-level classes.

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of design advocacy and marketing, while building on their design skills and their knowledge of professional design practices. Students will research, design, build, and assess solutions that meet specific human needs, using working drawings and other communication methods to present their design ideas. Students will describe how social factors, including culture, media, politics, religion, and environmental concerns, influence technological design.
