Hospitality

At SDCI we offer two branches of hospitality and tourism. We have classes that focus on both cooking and baking. The cooking classes will feature a focus on the preparation of meals and the fast pace environment of the restaurant business. The baking classes will feature a focus on the desert side of the profession learning how to bake and decorate a variety of different types of deserts.

We offer 5 different courses that focus on hospitality at SDCI. TFJ 20, which is the grade 10 class, TFB 3E, which is the grade 11 baking class, TFC 3E, which is the grade 11 cooking class, TFB 4E, which is the grade 12 baking class and TFC 4E, which is the grade 12 cooking class. These courses will provide students with opportunities to explore the different areas of the tourism industry with an emphasis on food service. Students will learn a variety of culinary techniques of food handling and preparation as well as how to provide high-quality service to ensure customer satisfaction.
